I noticed that when I was traveling with my mower in the raised position that one side was higher. I discovered that the rear lift arms were bent at the back where they go through the lift blocks. I took the lift arms off, bent them straight, redid the mower installation on the tractor (TC33D) by the book and they are bending again. I've lubricated them where they go through the lift block and the lift brackets on the 3-pt hitch seem wide enough that they should not be bending these arms. I replaced the 1/2" washer infront of the adjustment spring so it is smaller and can't get stuck in the lift block.. This mower was previously used on my 1530NH (TC25D) for 80 hours and I did not notice this problem. Help would be gratefully appreciated.

Bill, I had a 1530 NH that had the same condition. I was constantly straightening the rods. The only thing that helped was to lather the rod with anti-seize compound, but the only downfall was that the mowing chaff would start to stick to the rod after a few minutes of mowing. But at least the rod didn't bend so often. Why did you trade the 1530 away to get the TC33? What does the '33 have that the 1530 didn't? I had several issues with mine that got me disgusted enough to rid myself of it 2 years ago. One issue was lack of power in any gear, it smoked profusely, and the loader lift capacity was lame. I had to feather the hydro in the lowest gear when I was dipping into a dirt/gravel pile so it wouldn't stall the engine or hydro, then I could usually only fill the bucket 1/2 way or it wouldn't lift up. I think it mowed much better than the JD4300 belly mower that I currently have, but the JD has a much better loader capacity than the NH did. I NEVER used rear ballast on the NH as it would stall the lift arms out way before I felt light in the rear. (I did have fluid in the tires) With the JD, I purchased the weight box from my dealer and filled it to the top with concrete and it still feels light in the rear sometimes. I would be curious to know your response. ....

T-Rock-Thanks for your reply. My first NH product was a 1520, l995 vintage which I put 500 hours on and liked alot. I was interested in the new technology so my dealer made me a great deal on a 1530 that a local farmer bought just to pull a rear-mount mower to do his grass, then trades yearly. I thought the 1520 was adequate in power for my property and needs(10 acres of grass and pasture with occasional loader work and snow pushing) but the 1530 did not have the power the 1520 had. My friendly dealer made me another deal I thought was great(I think he likes to see me come to his shop) and I upgraded to the TC33D. For my minimal loader needs it's been adequate and the extra power took care of the problem areas I encountered with the 1530. I just turned 65 hours and have had no problems other than the bent lift arms which I didn't have on the 1520. I'd have saved $ sticking with the 1520 but I do like the "Boomer" otherwise.

T-Rock-I called my friendly NH dealer and found out there was a "campaign" put out by the company to correct the bending rear lift arms and I have an appointment next week to have the "kit" put in. My dealer says it's basically new lift brackets that fit on the 3-point lift arms..I'll find out. ....
